[00:00:00] Hey there, it's me, Shell Norris. I'm host of a podcast called Your Mama's Kitchen. When I travel, I'm usually looking for a way to find a taste of home when I'm not at home. And one of the things I love to do when I am at home is entertain. An Airbnb allows me to do that. When I was in California recently, I rented a house that had a great kitchen. And when we were sitting around the table, we're all thinking we're in someone else's house. Someone could be in all of our homes as well. If you have a home but you're not always at home,

[00:00:30] you have an Airbnb. Your home might be worth more than you think. Find out how much at Airbnb.com slash host.

[00:01:43] Millions of people have lost weight with personalized plans for noon, like Evan who can't stand salads and still lost 50 pounds.

[00:01:51] Salads generally for most people are the easy button, right? For me, that wasn't an option. I've never really was a salad guy. That's just not who I am. But new work for me.

[00:02:21] My name is Anna Silk. For six seasons, I played Bo on the Hit TV series Lost Girl.

[00:02:33] And my name is Rachel Scarston. For three seasons, I played Tamzan. Welcome to the Lost Girl Rewatch Podcast. A show where we will look at all the episodes, share some behind-the-scenes stories, and chat with some very special guests.

[00:02:48] On the show, our relationship was sometimes rocky. But in life, our friendship is rock solid. We are so glad you are here to join us this trip down memory lane.

[00:03:00] We love that the family is back together again.

[00:03:08] Hello, everybody. Welcome back to the Lost Girl Rewatch Podcast. This is podcast episode five where we will be discussing episodes nine and ten.

[00:03:19] And I couldn't be more thrilled because joining me right now is the lovely Michael Kramm who was in episode nine, the famous body swap episode. Welcome Michael to the podcast.

[00:03:34] Thank you. It's so good to be here. Yeah.

[00:03:38] It's so good to have you. I don't know if you realize Michael, the fan outpouring for this episode of all 77 episodes of this podcast. This by far is the most popular.

[00:03:53] Most asked about most talked about episode. No idea. That's crazy. That's so great. It's so great. It was such a unique like stand-alone episode.

[00:04:05] It was titled Original Skin. It was written by Emily Andress and directed by Paul Fox, which I had forgotten who had directed it until I rewatched it.

[00:04:15] And you've rewatched it. How did you feel rewatching it? It was really cool. I brought back mostly like I was thinking about how it felt like I was part of the cast.

[00:04:27] Usually if you're guest starring in an episode, you go any sort of feel like you got to keep quiet. Just do my thing, get my head down. Maybe you make or have a little bit of a friendly back and forth with some of the cast.

[00:04:41] Maybe you don't, but that's the job. And this one I felt like I was part of the cast because we were there every single day and there are long days.

[00:04:49] And it was a real ensemble thing. So yeah, it's one of my favorite episodes too for anybody listening. It was one of the favorite jobs I've ever had.

[00:04:57] Oh, that's great to hear. Well, it's a challenging job that you had. Yeah, it wasn't the normal kind of thing that we do.

[00:05:07] Yeah, no. And I mean, I don't know if you did you audition for the part? Did you?

[00:05:15] Yeah, so tell us that story. The way it happened was I just auditioned like you would have your agent calls you. You show up to the audition.

[00:05:25] You do the audition. And I think that the way it happened was they were concerned about getting somebody that could play you, right?

[00:05:35] Which is such a weird ask but so you're doing this gruff Texan bounty hunter guy, but you've got to flip over to, oh, at some point.

[00:05:45] And so they I think there was two auditions and then they brought me in just to a very casual sort of little improv with you playing each other. Do you remember that?

[00:05:55] It was in front of it was in front of I think is it J fire's yeah, J fire stone. He Paul was there Paul Fox the director and maybe one other person.

[00:06:05] And you and I, I think you sort of showed me how to be you. I don't think you played me in this particular audition but I just went down to the studio and we sat around and we kind of rift on me trying to sound like you for a while.

[00:06:19] Yeah, so that's how I got the job.

[00:06:23] And then and then I remember being really excited because it was my I had been on something for a while beforehand. This is my first time playing something new in a long time, and it was something so crazy.

[00:06:35] But then I went to the read through and everybody was so welcoming. And I had been familiar with a couple of people already so it already felt good.

[00:06:46] Yeah, and then from there on it was just a good week and a half of fun. I think you know some rehearsals together.

[00:06:53] So yes we did and you know what? Like on my old you know how like your old my head that I had a flip phone at the time.

[00:07:00] I don't know what I wrote or really old like original iPad. I remember recording you walk and things like that.

[00:07:07] You know, I will still get memories and it'll be a video of you walking across the bar.

[00:07:17] It's funny because I remember I rewatched the episode twice because I knew I was going to be doing this and I remember seeing you walk and think well that's pretty good.

[00:07:28] Like you're walking like me.

[00:07:30] You know it's about imagining that you've got like junk downstairs.

[00:07:35] I think we all I don't it was so much fun. It was like going to acting camp that week.

[00:07:40] Yeah, and the cast has often talked about that is exactly what I said to someone else.

[00:07:44] Yeah, really? Yeah. It was really fun. And we had a there's a language coach there too to help us with our accent.

[00:07:51] Because there's a lot of switching around accents because you know KC had to do the British accent.

[00:07:57] Yeah, I mean, Lena's British accent. You had to do my text. I wasn't I had to do a text.

[00:08:02] We had to do we both did yeah, I mean, I feel like you probably had the toughest job on in the whole thing because maybe.

[00:08:10] You know, the rest of us kind of know each other very well.

[00:08:14] Yeah.

[00:08:15] And maybe that makes it harder. I don't know but I just remember everyone kind of being paired off in the Dalriata which was the bar and working with each other and taking little videos snippets of each other.

[00:08:25] I remember I remember so specifically you coming to me and saying, you don't do anything.

[00:08:33] And I was like, what? You're like, you don't do anything like you don't have a mannerism.

[00:08:38] You don't have a this of that. And I was like, oh well.

[00:08:40] The thing is that to say the lead of the show.

[00:08:43] You don't do anything. I'm not known. I'm not known for my talk.

[00:08:46] No, it's because it's hard to grab on to something.

[00:08:50] You know, and so.

[00:08:54] But I will say in re watching this, let me see.

[00:08:57] Yeah, here look, I made a note about that you don't do anything.

[00:09:02] What I thought you captured so beautifully, Michael was so both.

[00:09:10] And I wouldn't have been able to tell you this at the time because I didn't know.

[00:09:14] But when I looked back, both specific function in the Fey World is one of sensitivity to the Fey World

[00:09:26] and reaction to that Fey World because all the other characters were either like really like they'd been around for centuries or you know they were human

[00:09:35] and sort of had a different perspective on it.

[00:09:37] Bo was Fey and knew to the world and was extremely sensitive to it, had strong opinions about it,

[00:09:45] and was very reactive to it.

[00:09:47] So what you did in that episode is you just hung in this place of sensitivity

[00:09:54] and I was like, oh yeah, that's Bo.

[00:09:56] Well, you captured that.

[00:09:58] Because I'm sort of surprised to say to hear you say that I said you did nothing because that is exactly what I remember.

[00:10:04] What I remember painting to is that it was like a vulnerability that held on to yourself the whole way.

[00:10:14] Like there was an edge to Bo always and that was the sort of, there's a slight standoffishness.

[00:10:21] So I played with that a little bit and then with that you kind of noticed the vulnerability when it seeped in.

[00:10:27] And that's what I, that's the thing that I think was very evident.

[00:10:31] And I'm surprised that I said that.

[00:10:33] I'm sorry about that.

[00:10:34] I think what you meant is like, you know, like you don't chew a toothpick, you don't like they're,

[00:10:39] you're not quirky.

[00:10:40] Yeah, like there wasn't something that you could really grab onto like it wasn't tangible.

[00:10:46] But I mean look you nailed it.

[00:10:49] It was a lot of fun.

[00:10:50] You nailed it too.

[00:10:51] Yeah everybody did.

[00:10:52] Yeah.

[00:10:53] Yeah, I was really, really into it.

[00:10:55] And I have to say too like this comfort thing was key for me right?

[00:11:01] The minute I, there was so many funny little stories because Rick and I became fast friends in LA for years.

[00:11:10] Yes.

[00:11:11] He and his wife Nadia were not in LA anymore but when we were there we were, you know, we had weekly dinners.

[00:11:18] And, and of course I saw you a few times there.

[00:11:20] Yes.

[00:11:21] Yeah.

[00:11:22] Chris Holdenring and I sort of knew each other from auditions from way back.

[00:11:26] And we had been friendly for a long time.

[00:11:31] Lena and I started, we did something after together.

[00:11:35] And then Zoe, the funny one was Zoe because I think I'm two people.

[00:11:42] And then I think I can be very outgoing and comfortable.

[00:11:45] And I can be really awkward like exactly like me so that you were well cast.

[00:11:50] There's people out there to think, oh that guy is so awkward.

[00:11:53] And other people, he's a nice guy.

[00:11:55] He's very casual and easy going.

[00:11:56] Well it was me and Zoe who I would describe the same way.

[00:12:01] And we were both awkward cells at the craft table at the read through.

[00:12:06] And we had both come up where I had sort of done my introductions.

[00:12:09] And you know how you're kind of, you got a little bit of nerves going on when you're in a big group who've been together for a season or two already.

[00:12:15] And you're just coming into it and I don't know where I stand at this point.

[00:12:19] It's like, and it's a tough job like you said.

[00:12:22] And we're standing at the craft table and we arrived at the same time.

[00:12:27] And we just stared straight ahead of each other not talking and not grabbing for any food.

[00:12:33] And one of us went bagels and the other one went butter.

[00:12:38] And we just kept staring and I think we introduced ourselves.

[00:12:45] And then we looked at each other and started laughing and went back to the table.

[00:12:49] And that started a very nice friendship that's lasted years.

[00:12:53] You know, I'm still friendly with her.

[00:12:55] I love that.

[00:12:56] Yeah.

[00:12:57] That is Zoe moment for sure.

[00:12:59] It was so and we will laugh about it to this day, but I also have to be careful because I had another interview where I described that event.

[00:13:07] And I had to call her and tell her if you ever hear this interview, I made it sound like you and I are still best friends like you're my best friend.

[00:13:17] And I realize that's not the case.

[00:13:19] I love you and I am your friend, but I realize you're not my best friend.

[00:13:23] So I had to call her up and that was a very great conversation as you can imagine.

[00:13:27] I think it's a conversation you can easily have with Zoe though.

[00:13:30] She's one of a kind.

[00:13:32] She's one of a kind.

[00:13:33] She got it.

[00:13:34] Yeah.

[00:13:35] No, I love, I mean, I love to hear that you have lasting friendships from the show because we all do.

[00:13:43] Absolutely.

[00:13:44] We all are still in touch.

[00:13:46] Some more than others but definitely as a whole we're all in touch.

[00:13:52] I love to rewatching this episode.

[00:13:55] I was laughing out loud particularly at Chris playing Kenzie because just him bouncing around was hilarious.

[00:14:02] But you as a woods, your opening scene where you come into the bar.

[00:14:10] So for everyone listening as an actor it's so challenging to be a guest on a show

[00:14:20] where you have to walk into one of the central sets for all those main characters.

[00:14:26] The bar is full of main characters.

[00:14:28] You're walking story wise, you're walking into a personal drama that's happening amongst those characters.

[00:14:34] You have to walk in Michael Cram, command the room and have everybody paying attention to you.

[00:14:43] Which is not an easy job to do at all.

[00:14:46] And you did it.

[00:14:47] I mean, that's your job.

[00:14:50] That's your job.

[00:14:51] You're supposed to show up and be able to do that but it's not easy to do that.

[00:14:57] And so you did it so well.

[00:14:59] And I loved your powers which I'm not really sure what they were but I like that you just had something you could conjure up in your hands.

[00:15:04] Yeah, I understood that I could create containment fields but I never was really,

[00:15:09] I just thought that was like a ball of energy that hurt the head you.

[00:15:14] You know, when you're walking into that situation it's a bit of a you have to at some point when I was younger

[00:15:20] I think those situations was a 50-50 situation where it might blow up in my face.

[00:15:25] Yeah.

[00:15:26] Well as you've done this longer and longer you realize that you need to jump and part of that is preparation

[00:15:33] so you don't have to think too hard but I do have to say that something where maybe it was the accent

[00:15:40] maybe it was the comfort level but something sort of just it was in my body.

[00:15:45] Right.

[00:15:46] And it just felt good to do with and because everybody was so receptive and maybe because all the eyes are on me

[00:15:52] and that's what I've always wanted.

[00:15:56] It just kind of flowed like that.

[00:15:59] Yeah, yeah.

[00:16:00] And maybe partly too because I mean you're very skilled and talented after but also because we were all jumping in that episode.

[00:16:08] I think we were all unsure a little bit of is this going to work?

[00:16:13] You know, like let's hope it was a weird show.

[00:16:16] We did all kinds of weird things on that show but no matter what it has to be grounded in the reality of the truth of that environment.

[00:16:24] So like that's the other thing I noted about this is that you had to come in not just command the room as this powerful fade dude.

[00:16:33] You had to know the fade world.

[00:16:36] So to hear actors talk like you did in this episode about how this works, who Rainer is, why we're in such trouble

[00:16:45] to have the stakes of the world because you don't you haven't been living the fade worlds like we have.

[00:16:51] So you have to come in and talk about something that's completely foreign to you which I'm sure you looked into or it doesn't matter even if you look into it.

[00:16:58] We have such a short turnaround to make that work.

[00:17:01] And so you did you felt like you carried the weight of the fade world.

[00:17:05] Thanks, which was so amazing to see.

[00:17:08] Yeah, it's great fun because also there's there's as someone who's coming in I know there's tons of rules but you expect you sort of make it out to what you think it's going to be and hope somebody's going to cut you off if you go too far.

[00:17:23] And in some ways there's like no boundaries for you to go into that.

[00:17:28] So I appreciate that you think I did it well but I wonder if maybe it's easier if you don't really it's not really in you like it is you guys.

[00:17:38] Right, because I can just go in making it whatever I think it is and then someone tell me hey enough is enough or you know give it a little more.

[00:17:48] But it's like it's like a one inch difference of having the courage like that little bit of courage is only an inch but it makes all the difference right in terms of getting yourself there.

[00:17:58] I have to shout out someone else in this episode which is the little girl who played the name Rouge.

[00:18:04] Oh yeah, she was wonderful and I will tell I think I've told this story before at a con or something.

[00:18:11] She was so good and she's probably like finished college by now.

[00:18:16] She was wonderful, whoever that young actress was I should have looked up her name I did not but she was fantastic and I remember her coming to set.

[00:18:27] And I remember having to go to the bar to rehearse.

[00:18:33] And so you know what it's like on set your your bopping around you're going from from thing to thing and I get there and I'm like hi and I meet this wonderful little girl and then they call action for the rehearsal and she's just like boom she's there.

[00:18:48] Yeah, she doesn't have her sides which are the small script that we carry around on set some kids come kids just have that.

[00:18:55] I had my size in my hand she started and I just went oh my god and I was like flipping through my sides trying to find the lines like she threw me she she rattled me which is what the character is supposed to do but she did rattle Anna as well.

[00:19:10] Yeah, and it was wonderful to work with her she was so good she just had this she was still wearing and creepy at the same time like yeah and strong.

[00:19:19] Yeah, so strong so I have to give her a little shout out.

[00:19:24] Have you had any fan encounters over the years I don't know if you are familiar with the lost girl fan base but I'm wondering if you've ever been recognized for that I there have been times where I've sort of seen where in conjunction with another thing someone will have said.

[00:19:44] You know mention woods in lost girl as well as what I've never I've never had a founding capture like that no okay i wish that would have been great but no it happened now.

[00:19:57] It is by far the most asked about episode so I always some time well not always sometimes I like to point out things in an episode that I feel didn't work as well for me it was my bangs what the heck what do I have those bangs.

[00:20:13] Are you kidding I don't remember your bangs not looking I they were great I thought they were clip on banks but I don't know why story wise because it's the opening scene where you know Kenzie is dancing around in her shoes and she's like let's go out tonight but let's go out as like different people i'm not sure what function me looking different because it's not like we were going to look the same at all.

[00:20:36] They're not going to confuse us or why did I have to have a different look for that episode somebody's some maybe somebody took it literally let's give her a different look and.

[00:20:46] I don't know i thought they were your bangs first of all no i didn't really i never warn them before.

[00:20:53] I just cringe when I look at them but but I don't know what i was just trying to figure out what story function they had anyway i don't know.

[00:21:05] I also loved the actor who played rainard cuz he had an interesting part that's a hard part to play yes what do you have to draw on there and he did a great job you slithering wasn't he was a slithering villain yeah cause what does crazy mean right like if you're going to be this crazy guy what does that mean.

[00:21:28] I'm certainly embodied it.

[00:21:30] Oh and I love that i loved how in the story because it would be hard this is where the writing was so good the direction was so good to you it's hard to show the audience like how we're switching bodies who is who and i love the moment you and i body switch at the pool table i just rewatched again this morning.

[00:21:50] I'm where you know it's clear you and i have switched then you see everybody else switch then you have to figure out who's who and then trick gets name tags it was actually brilliant when trick is the name tags it was or even knowing everything that went on and knowing the episode.

[00:22:08] I was like oh that's a relief what a relief exactly yes even for me who i know all those characters and it was too hard you know.

[00:22:19] And I love that we see we got to watch you know your scene with so it's the bow and kiar scene which is really you and Casey.

[00:22:28] I love that scene i love that scene i just it's funny i just i was rewatching it again before we came on here today and that was the last scene i saw before before we hooked up online here yeah so i i was i it was a lovely scene and the vulnerability was like coming from both sides in that one.

[00:22:48] Yeah it was nice to see his character because so the opposite of that in the show yeah totally and then and then we had those scenes like we had dyson and kiaris scenes which would have been.

[00:22:58] I guess Casey and and cassena and then the bow can see scene which was you and Chris which was really cool to because i said like i said there was a messiness to their personal lives at this point and to have to deal with this.

[00:23:15] Say the least i forgot about that.

[00:23:18] I forgot about that too because it's been so long since i've watched that episode which has made this podcast a real trip i have to say Michael because to go back and watch i have to say season two i had really forgotten how special season two was.

[00:23:34] Yeah and you were a big part of making that special.

[00:23:37] That's so nice to say well it was an honor to be there and i to this day is one of my favorite jobs i've ever done and i'll never forget it.

[00:23:44] I hope it's on your demo real i hope there's something from it on your demo real okay good because you were fantastic.

[00:23:54] Is there anything else we can we can add to this i mean i feel like we've we've talked about it and.

[00:24:00] There's one thing i noticed i just want to give a shout out to rick that in the episode i know he's an ancient and he's probably more than 500 years old in the show right.

[00:24:12] I was saying yes i just wanted to i was joking with him earlier that i call him old timer in the episode and i'm a year older than him so i just wanted to make sure that got said yeah.

[00:24:22] Old timer.

[00:24:25] Old timer yeah.

[00:24:26] It's strike me as weird at the time but i was like i'm older than this guy and i'm calling old timer but then it made sense obviously.

[00:24:33] Rick was my grandfather on the show.

[00:24:35] He was my grandfather.

[00:24:37] See all the things i don't know.

[00:24:39] Yeah all the things you don't know be which gets revealed later by the way so we didn't know that then.

[00:24:44] Wait did we god now i can't remember now i've got too many episodes in my head.

[00:24:49] Six six six seasons total right.

[00:24:51] We did yes i just can't remember now when that was revealed it was a great run it was a great run and we have we've been it's been.

[00:25:01] We've been so flooded with so much love for for this show you know we've done conventions and things like that and the fan base is.

[00:25:11] Incredible they really took ownership.

[00:25:14] They took ownership of the show they took ownership of these characters they flooded us with love so this podcast that that Rachel and i are doing.

[00:25:24] Is by the way you probably notice Rachel's not here everybody but Rachel is working today so yay but.

[00:25:32] So i.

[00:25:35] This this podcast is really our version of a love letter to fans because you know but it's actually been really like it's almost been.

[00:25:45] A healing or something for me I had to go back and watch.

[00:28:01] Okay so let's get started our first voicemail is from Jen let's hear what she has to say.

[00:28:11] Hi this is Jen fits in beautiful downtown Burbank California and this is about the body swap episode did you guys just wing it or did you actually study each other to get the.

[00:28:30] The characteristics of each person that everyone was playing because it was brilliant.

[00:28:40] Well oh my gosh can you imagine if you just winged it I know I mean we all knew each other well enough you certainly I don't I don't think so I mean I could have probably because I mean Michael had a really strong southern accent.

[00:28:59] There's things I could grab on to and so but for I know like everyone Jen we studied each other so even Michael and I who just met we took videos of each other walking talking you know looking around whatever it was.

[00:29:23] But everyone was in like little groups around set in the Dalryatta I remember and like recording each other I think people asked for footage of like recent episodes so they could watch each other move and things like that because.

[00:29:38] And it's so cool to see like that the episode in re watching it was so funny to me I was laughing so much particularly at Chris like just his freedom in his body

[00:29:51] and like bouncing around I mean he's just adorable yeah everyone worked pretty hard in a very short period of time because we didn't have a whole lot of time who do you think had the toughest job like imitating.

[00:30:05] Who was the hardest person to imitate.

[00:30:10] I would imagine Dyson would be in some way he was going to be my like he's.

[00:30:17] Yeah well because he's so physical he's up but you can take him now.

[00:30:25] He's got the kind of like this like give me give your best Dyson I just did I just showed you.

[00:30:32] Oh I mean yeah so it was so good. It was so good actually thought it was Chris.

[00:30:39] Yeah I don't know I feel like I mean I don't know who would be hardest that everyone's hard and not I mean I thought Lena did a beautiful job as Hale.

[00:30:51] Like that she had the toothpick you know like there's little mannerisms that people have.

[00:30:58] Yeah but yeah I think too you're not just emulating the person it's the character they built so all of the actors on the show I think they did a really good job of building characters that weren't just the words that they were saying it was like their physicality or the toothpick or like you know all these other little things even the costume that then lend itself to you know being easy to.

[00:31:27] Not easy but easier to emulate it.

[00:31:31] It lends itself to a certain physicality to like your costume like I definitely had a bow walk.

[00:31:36] Yeah it's like when people cosplay yeah totally yes exactly it's like that so everyone listening I bet you could body swap with with us.

[00:31:48] Yeah we should do a Bobby swap out so Dana you and I I think we should.

[00:31:55] Thank you.

[00:31:56] Thank you for that question.

[00:31:59] Yes for that VM that's what all the cool kids are saying now we started it you heard it here first.

[00:32:06] The next voice mail is from Lisa.

[00:32:11] Hi this message is for Rachel my name is Lisa I'm calling from San Diego quick question.

[00:32:21] If you were to have been in the episode where everybody switched bodies I'm sure you know which one I'm talking about.

[00:32:28] That's my favorite episode.

[00:32:31] Whose body would you like to have jumped into or whose character would you like to have been swamped with?

[00:32:39] Anyways love the podcast love y'all and have a great day evening morning afternoon life.

[00:32:46] Love you guys bye.

[00:32:51] Okay so I think for character I would really it's so hard because I mean honestly I would have loved to try to play these two characters but I feel like I couldn't have done them the justice that they're like the actors who embodied them played them as.

[00:33:20] I would love to to be in Vex I think Vex is like such a fun character.

[00:33:28] And also there's just so many tools at your disposal to emulate Vex or or Kenzie would have been really fun as well because it's the same thing but and also they both do such a good job at what I was talking about before like bringing so many extra layers to that character that you can pull from the toolbox to.

[00:33:49] Make it easy or easier to identify them as like that's definitely Vex or that's definitely Kenzie yes but if I didn't provide to body someone I think body swap was Zoe because she's so cool.

[00:34:04] I'm just being cool for a day and she's the coolest like in real life in real life yes.

[00:34:11] And Lauren I mean Lauren was definitely more bookie and dorky than then Zoe is always very cool.

[00:34:18] So cool she's so cool that's the answer to my question.

[00:34:23] I think that's in real life and when she body swapped in this episode with the nutty man that puts the stuff in the beer she was not easy at all like I mean so good at that.

[00:34:39] I remember I'm jumping ahead now but remember in season was it five when she had to play like the roster.

[00:34:46] Oh my god I told her that.

[00:34:49] Oh my god so good at that too like it was like she became a completely different person yes yes and she was like going to say I lost my train of box I looked down on my notes.

[00:35:05] God what's they going to say Rachel she was swapping with the guy with the beer she was so oh yes I remember she's so when she had to do that like he was not on set very much right because he was in a couple of scenes.

[00:35:18] So they what they had done with Zoe I remember they had sent his audition to her to watch because they had cast him and so I should be going like oh my gosh I've just seen this audition and this guy's amazing but like I have to try to copy what he was doing

[00:35:34] and like I remember being kind of like oh my god what is this going to look like but she did it so well she's so well.

[00:35:42] So yeah those are good answers I mean I'm very disappointed you didn't say me I feel like I wouldn't use this one to switch bodies with me that's true.

[00:35:53] Oh no like I definitely see a spot in a competition between all three of us always definitely the cool for sure.

[00:36:03] I know there's Zoe and then there's us.

[00:36:06] I'll put us on the same plate on the same plate.

[00:36:10] Great question Lisa okay we've got another one here from Mila.

[00:36:17] Hey Anna one of the best and funny episodes in season two was the episode original skin was it challenging to play the role of your co-star.

[00:36:28] Did you get confused at all?

[00:36:31] Thanks and I enjoyed this rewatching podcast. Congrats.

[00:36:38] Oh that's a good question did you get used?

[00:36:41] Well that's a great question Mila and what I was going to say about that is I thought the writing written so brilliantly as we know by Emily Andress.

[00:36:54] It was so good because that it kind of took care of that element of it like the way that we came together and then you see us all body switch it looked like you weren't quite sure who was switching with who.

[00:37:09] When when everyone switched but then trick goes and gets name tags like once we realize who's who he goes to get the name tags to put everyone's name.

[00:37:18] And so it actually helped the actors as well.

[00:37:25] To remember even though you could see what was happening but like we were it was like it was just so much fun but I thought in terms of like visually also telling the story with name tags and with the CGI of a switching bodies.

[00:37:42] It just worked most excited for the episode like who was like oh my gosh I'm going to kill this.

[00:37:50] You know what I think everyone was super excited and also really nervous because this is a bit of like most excited.

[00:37:58] I mean I just I'll like and think it's Chris I feel like I talk about Chris all the time maybe I'm in love with Chris.

[00:38:05] I do love Chris.

[00:38:07] No I think I mean I think Chris was just so bouncing all over the place to play Kenzie because Kenzie so looks like such a spark plug the character you know.

[00:38:18] So yeah I think he was probably the most excited but I think everyone was scared too because this is one of those episodes where you kind of go cross your fingers let's go let's hope this works and this is where they do on pretty much every show I think is it called a.

[00:38:36] Containment episode or something like that what's the word for it where they want to they want to shorten the shooting days.

[00:38:45] And put us all in one location it saves on budget it's what it does and so it tends to happen halfway through a season on a lot of shows so pay attention to shows you love where like.

[00:38:54] In Gray's Anatomy they're all stuck in the the OR or whatever it is like so because it makes filming much more it's contained I don't know how to contain an episode I don't know if that's the word.

[00:39:06] I should tell you like a deadly virus but.

[00:39:09] Contains something like that we all got a virus we had to stay in the dollar yada no but that's what it is and that's what that one and I believe it was only six days of shooting and most of our episodes were seven or eight so.

[00:39:21] It was fast and furious that in six days yes with not Paul Fox who was such a great director I don't know if you've ever worked with him.

[00:39:36] He's so like he's got a very gentle approach but a very specific idea and so.

[00:39:44] He just kind of came in he did it he made it all work um it was pretty incredible but yeah.

[00:39:52] Containment episode.

[00:39:54] Containment episode okay thank you Mila for that question let's see what we have next here oh.

[00:40:00] I can't I make there we go Rebecca that's here from Rebecca Rebecca whatever you know this calls me hi this is becks from the UK just to ask if you could body swap with any other character apart from the one that you body swapped with who would it have been and why.

[00:40:21] And also I love the podcast I love watching every week I think you guys are amazing and yeah I just look forward to it every week thank you so much bye.

[00:40:35] Thank you thank you that's yeah we're a lovely message and thank you for that we love making it and Rachel and I have had a lot of fun doing it so.

[00:40:45] Yes we have glad you're enjoying it so we've talked about that a little bit I guess already I mean I.

[00:40:51] I know but we talk for me this is actually a question for you know like would you have who would you have wanted to swap.

[00:40:59] When is that Chris?

[00:41:03] First of all Chris only Chris may answer everything is Chris.

[00:41:07] God okay if I had to body swap with one of the main cast yet.

[00:41:16] I would say I would say Kenzie or Chris I mean it like Dyson because I just think I just love how they both use their bodies as those characters so I think that that would have been really kind of fun to like you know I'm

[00:41:46] I don't know they're both very they have a lot of physicality in those parts and I think that would have been kind of cool to try to emulate.

[00:41:55] I always think actors like it's like my favorite actress is Lucille ball because she it like does this physical comedy that was actually very rare for women at the time but any actor who uses their body to create a character I'm so inspired by yeah I just it's magnificent

[00:42:16] Most of the time you don't even know that it's happening unless you know them really well personally you know but definitely Chris Dyson is in many ways the antithesis of how he is when you're just like hanging out you know he's like kind of googly and like fun yeah

[00:42:32] like nice news like oh like so like in his body yeah yeah watch him create that so I got it if you could body switch with anyone in the world who would be love Chris what just Chris and Zoe it's just you and I sitting here being like Chris and Zoe all the time

[00:42:56] if you could body swap with anyone in the on the planet who would it be I mean there's probably lots of people but a lot of people you'd want a body switch with no I'm just kidding that sounds really weird like in body swap I mean it would definitely be a man because I would just be interested in like what that was all like you know like I want to be like LeBron James or someone yeah

[00:43:21] like someone who can use their body in this like really big way yeah so our next voicemail was from shaney there was a problem with some static on the recording so we wanted to spare everyone's ears however we did want to shout you out cheney saying thank you for leaving the

[00:43:40] voicemail and also address the question that you asked because we actually get asked this question a lot which is where can I find a lost girl not for 10 million dollars so the answer to that question as if you're in the United States you can download the CWC app

[00:44:02] and watch all the episodes of all the seasons for free if you are outside of the US it's a little bit more difficult and yeah we actually don't know where you can get the episodes for free so if you know I'm actually you know what we should get

[00:44:26] it up on the lost girl rewatch Instagram page and I believe did we put it up there because people did give some really good answers I think I don't remember that but it would be good to get those answers

[00:44:39] because for anyone living outside of the US where you watch there you go actually you know what we did answer this question

[00:44:46] it's my desk your desk is moving yeah it's mad it's so mad you can't find lost girl it's like this is um if you go if you go to the lost girl rewatch podcasts Instagram page in the saved highlights there's a where to watch and people actually

[00:45:08] wrote in answered for different countries where you can see it for free so go check that out but definitely if you're in the US see WC

[00:45:14] yes great question thank you for asking that um so let's know yeah about the next episode 10

[00:45:24] so episode 10 was really fun to watch it's it was called raging fade Jeremy Box and wrote it

[00:45:30] and David green directed it and it was his first ever episode of anything that he directed

[00:45:37] um i'm wearing green and there you go um except he has an e on the end but whatever right cool

[00:45:44] so my violin no I just he likes he likes that he has an e it's different um but yes you are wearing green in his honor

[00:45:53] but it was his directorial debut and he was wonderful of course um the episode was fun there's so

[00:46:00] many fun things in it right like it's there's a really investigating episode you get to see

[00:46:04] bow and lorna in the beginning look like resilient isles like showing up to this crime scene and

[00:46:10] there's a lot of uh of that element to it like that feeling of investigating but

[00:46:16] the episode is really about um both past coming back to sort of smacker in the face

[00:46:25] and her feeling the need to then run again and instead she faces her past so she's in the boxing ring

[00:46:32] and she's getting beaten and she's letting it happen uh because she feels so so much guilt and shame

[00:46:39] over you know the the body count she left in her wake and killing Kyle who whose sister comes back

[00:46:47] into this episode played by Joanne Boland who was wonderful um and so you get to see bow do that

[00:46:54] and it's it's great to watch you know lorna and kenzie and dyson and trick help her through this

[00:47:01] so it's a very emotional episode too and and of course being directed by David green it was so

[00:47:05] touching those moments were so extra touching because as we know david is so sensitive and open

[00:47:13] and and uh creates an atmosphere that you can feel very very safe in so it was it was really cool to

[00:47:21] see um i loved uh i loved that i got to say two lines i don't think i've ever said since before or

[00:47:28] since which was boy howdy and roger dodger uh whoever says that but i got to say both

[00:47:35] the things i think we should i really forget vm you should be roger dodger dodger's here

[00:47:44] i like it i like that better real roger dodger you know what i know i know what you saying

[00:47:50] i know what roger dodger means see can mean anything

[00:47:54] exactly you can literally i'm i'm supposed to roger dodger that roger dodged today

[00:48:00] you are deed it totally

[00:48:04] you are so in to just like the one letters together

[00:48:08] m vm rd he remember in high school

[00:48:13] i remember an old boyfriend that i had in high school

[00:48:17] i was right after high school but whatever um and he would he started going as a joke because

[00:48:22] he was at a very clever sense of humor of course but he would go uh a i like as if

[00:48:34] and that's what made him really cool and i think of him that's with you anyway

[00:48:43] so yes um i the the the woman who played thrashers she was a real fighter um so she was excellent

[00:48:53] um i love that you get to see this what was that like being in the box it was awesome i mean

[00:48:59] first like i was in there with real fighters there's a lot of real fighters around me so

[00:49:03] and they're and we're doing the majority of like taking the hits and stuff i mean they don't

[00:49:08] actually hit you but like where a lot of those you yeah a lot of yeah for sure and gen is in

[00:49:13] there too um of course uh but a lot of it was me because you have to see bow getting beaten

[00:49:19] you have to see her face getting cut it was it it was a heavy makeup day too because

[00:49:24] linda had to keep coming in to make me more and more beaten um so there was a lot of how long did

[00:49:30] that take to shoot i would say that scene took a while um

[00:49:39] we were in this way like a we weren't on our usual sound or you know stage or whatever

[00:49:46] but um it probably took a good portion of a day and there were several fights in that ring so

[00:49:53] but that was that was a really big one and and it's a very it's showing bow getting you know beaten

[00:49:59] and emotional and flashing back and all this kind of stuff so um and i love the scene i love the scene

[00:50:04] at the end with two bow and kenzie you get to see that like just how in depth their friendship was

[00:50:10] um and i love her um what is i i can't what i can't read my own writing

[00:50:23] oh when at the end when bow tells mel this is kyle sister kyle's the guy she killed she

[00:50:29] goes to to give this confession you know of what she did um and

[00:50:40] well people watch the episode so so the the fay have sort of helped

[00:50:43] you're not not spoiling anything this kyle i don't want to give it away

[00:50:51] i love um the ashes teeth at the end he goes to kill he's going to go kill that fay and his

[00:50:58] bangs come out and they're they're incredible they're so vicious so vicious and vinson looks so

[00:51:07] cool with vicious fangs let's just let's just let's just sit and i love bow talking to the little boy

[00:51:14] because she's saying to him like you're not alone and you know i'm like you i'm different to

[00:51:19] and it's like it's so touching and just brings i actually remember that

[00:51:24] remember that scene from the very first time i watched really we're talking to the little boy

[00:51:31] yeah and this was like it wasn't even like a huge kid person it was just so it was so sweet

[00:51:38] it's really sweet no that's cool that you remembered it um anyway that touches on 10 and i think

[00:51:44] it's it's important to talk about that because it is you know bows past coming back and it's also

[00:51:48] starting to address the name rouge and and the the warning that's coming uh and the vision

[00:51:55] that bow is seeing and she shares with trick like you know i saw a vision of you me standing over you

[00:52:01] and your dead i basically killed you and you see the the weight of that on rick on trick so um

[00:52:10] don't don't don't how many times that happened to you in the show several i'd be like hey rick

[00:52:15] and i'd be like oh dammit wait what's your name it's either rick or trick um but i think

[00:52:22] love this uh like this episode because i think it's him it's a beautiful um parallel to life

[00:52:31] you know like having you not run from your past face it it's painful it can be sh-

[00:52:39] it feels shameful i can feel all those things and and yeah i just i think it's really

[00:52:46] see it doesn't glaze over any of it no and when you stand like he said when you stand in the

[00:52:53] pain of something it can give it a chance to move you know or you sort of expand yourself

[00:53:01] or hold it differently in a way which i think is kind of true as well because you when you run

[00:53:08] from things and you crouch around them and you curl around them and you you know grip onto things

[00:53:14] you if you expand that in you it has more places to go so i don't think there's anything else

[00:53:22] to say though so beautiful i think we've uh we've nailed it roger dodger on um it's the real

[00:53:30] roger dodger i've done it before ten but if but if we don't we don't

[00:53:34] at this point i can't keep track but um but what a ride it's been and uh roger dodger to everyone listening

[00:53:42] and uh roger dodger are you friend are you are already are you a boy howdy this was a good one

[00:53:51] thank you to everyone listening we will see you guys on the next one
