[00:01:15] Wir sind so glücklich.
[00:01:17] Wir sind hier zu uns für das Trip Down Memory Lane.
[00:01:20] Wir lieben dass die Familie wieder wieder wieder wieder wieder.
[00:01:25] Everybody!
[00:01:31] Welcome back!
[00:01:32] Welcome back!
[00:01:33] Welcome back to Season 3 of the Lost Girl Rewatch Podcast.
[00:01:38] It's finally here.
[00:01:39] I know.
[00:01:40] We're finally doing it.
[00:01:41] We did better this season than we did last season.
[00:01:43] We did.
[00:01:44] It hasn't been as long.
[00:01:45] It hasn't been as long.
[00:01:46] Last season it was like seven years.
[00:01:47] It felt like seven years.
[00:01:49] Yeah.
[00:01:50] It felt like seven years.
[00:01:51] But this time it's less than seven years.
[00:01:54] Yes.
[00:01:55] How was your summer?
[00:01:57] Hot.
[00:01:58] It was hot.
[00:01:59] Hot.
[00:01:59] Yeah.
[00:02:00] And good.
[00:02:02] But I think also...
[00:02:03] I'm also asking you guys like as if I haven't seen Rachel, but I actually have seen her this
[00:02:07] summer.
[00:02:08] Yeah.
[00:02:08] We've seen you too.
[00:02:09] Yeah.
[00:02:10] It's true.
[00:02:10] It's true.
[00:02:11] But I also think like, you know when you're in school, so whether you're in school or your
[00:02:15] kids are in school and there's this real like delineation between like school year and summer.
[00:02:21] Totally.
[00:02:22] Yep.
[00:02:23] I don't have that because...
[00:02:26] Oh, we have to take that out because no one knows his name.
[00:02:32] Okay.
[00:02:33] I said my son's name of which I'm keeping private.
[00:02:37] So we bleeped it.
[00:02:38] We bleeped it.
[00:02:39] I didn't swear.
[00:02:41] Although, cause we're allowed to swear on this podcast.
[00:02:44] But, but yeah, since he's not in school, it just, and we live in LA.
[00:02:49] It's just like the time goes, you know what I mean?
[00:02:52] I know.
[00:02:53] So it, it has me, it's felt like summer, but not in the same way that it's maybe felt like
[00:02:57] summer in the past.
[00:02:58] When he's in school, it will feel different because both my boys are in school.
[00:03:01] They've started back in school.
[00:03:02] So it feels like that back to school feeling that, you know, it makes me want to buy loose
[00:03:08] leaf.
[00:03:09] I went to Target the other day and just walked around the school supplies area.
[00:03:14] It's great.
[00:03:15] And was like reminiscing about when I had my, what was it called?
[00:03:18] It was like a, like a box for all your pens, you know?
[00:03:22] And I would have all my colored pens and my erasers.
[00:03:25] It's like the sack.
[00:03:26] Your pencil case.
[00:03:28] Yeah, but it was called, it was called something.
[00:03:30] Which is very Canadian.
[00:03:31] Oh yeah.
[00:03:32] Um, and yeah.
[00:03:34] And I was just, you'd get so excited about getting your first day of school outfit.
[00:03:39] I am.
[00:03:40] Did your boys have the first day of school outfit or did they not care?
[00:03:43] We're LA boys.
[00:03:44] So, you know, loose hanging basketball shorts and t-shirts.
[00:03:48] That's, that's, that's pretty much what they wear every day and a little bit of sunblock.
[00:03:51] Um, but it was so funny because the teachers always have a back to school wishlist for
[00:03:56] parents.
[00:03:57] So they can go on and, you know, purchase things to add to the class.
[00:04:00] So I went on to, um, Levi's class wishlist and I was like, yeah, okay.
[00:04:06] Hand sanitizer wipes.
[00:04:07] Like there's all these things.
[00:04:08] And, um, there was also a pack of 40 whoopie cushions.
[00:04:11] So I was like, oh, I'll get those.
[00:04:14] I have no idea what they're going to do with them, but, um, it was on the teacher's wishlist.
[00:04:18] So I think he's going to have a really fun year.
[00:04:19] Yeah.
[00:04:20] It's going to be a good time.
[00:04:21] It's going to be a good time.
[00:04:22] Um, anyway, welcome back everybody.
[00:04:26] Yes.
[00:04:26] This season is so unbelievably special because finally, but also how exciting for you guys.
[00:04:33] And for me that Tamsin will be making her entrance onto lost girl.
[00:04:37] So I am thrilled.
[00:04:39] It is not however happening in this first episode.
[00:04:41] No, this first episode back.
[00:04:44] Well, here, let me start by saying sort of where we left off in season two.
[00:04:47] We had the name Rouge appearing with all these visions and both starting to find this sort
[00:04:53] of deeper power.
[00:04:55] Um, at the very end, she sees her eyes glowing in the mirror and we start season three with the impression that Bo has turned bad.
[00:05:04] Yes.
[00:05:05] So the beginning of that episode, um, which she's reaching havoc.
[00:05:08] Yes.
[00:05:09] She's reeking.
[00:05:09] That was a great beginning of the episode, by the way, when the crane comes up.
[00:05:14] So I was just going to say that crane shot was expensive because they're always expensive.
[00:05:20] We were filming on the street at night, downtown Toronto.
[00:05:25] And this episode, I know David green, who was our DP.
[00:05:28] He was also a good friend of mine.
[00:05:30] Um, he was particularly proud of this episode in terms of his, his job on this.
[00:05:36] Um, cause he sort of had the budget and the time for it to do those extra little things, all the stuff in the prison, the way it was lit.
[00:05:42] It was quite beautiful, but yeah, they had wet the streets.
[00:05:46] God, where was that prison?
[00:05:47] Was it an actual prison?
[00:05:50] These are good questions.
[00:05:52] It looked like it.
[00:05:52] Like I remember, I remember in this, and this will be what we talk about in the next episode.
[00:05:57] Obviously I was there.
[00:05:57] I remember that set, but I wasn't here for this one.
[00:06:00] Do you remember where it was?
[00:06:00] Yeah.
[00:06:00] I don't, I don't remember where it was, but I don't think it was a prison.
[00:06:04] I think they built the kids, the sort of, uh, you know, cells.
[00:06:09] Yeah.
[00:06:09] I don't remember what it was.
[00:06:10] I just can't remember.
[00:06:12] Yeah.
[00:06:12] Well, there's so many like warehouses and stuff like that in Toronto.
[00:06:15] Yeah.
[00:06:16] Yeah.
[00:06:17] But it looked incredible.
[00:06:18] And that opening crane shot, they had hosed down the streets.
[00:06:22] You know how they wet the streets to make them look kind of, I guess, luscious.
[00:06:26] Yeah.
[00:06:26] Um, and I was in that purple coat.
[00:06:29] We had Noreen Landry join us that season.
[00:06:32] So she was our new wardrobe, head wardrobe lady.
[00:06:35] And she had very much a fashion flair.
[00:06:38] So, so she had brought this fashion sense to Bo and Bo's in purple, which I don't particularly
[00:06:43] like purple, but Bo looked great in purple.
[00:06:46] Oh, you looked amazing.
[00:06:47] Your hair.
[00:06:48] Your hair.
[00:06:49] Oh no.
[00:06:49] Oh no.
[00:06:50] So good in that.
[00:06:51] Oh, are you in the first.
[00:06:53] Okay.
[00:06:54] In the first scene.
[00:06:55] I will say this is, this is the second time we tried bangs on Bo.
[00:07:00] No, it was so great.
[00:07:01] It was like, it was like, it was a, it was a piece like a floppy piece and it was side
[00:07:05] swept bangs.
[00:07:07] But what happens as the episode went on, like when I get hosed down in the prison and stuff
[00:07:11] like that is the bangs started to go like this.
[00:07:14] So by the end, it looked like this, like thing we were pulling out of a drain and then sticking
[00:07:19] on my head.
[00:07:20] And, uh, that also did look like siblings with Vex.
[00:07:23] I did notice that.
[00:07:24] I was like, they have the same hairdo.
[00:07:26] We had the same, there was just something weird.
[00:07:28] I just, I should never have bangs.
[00:07:30] Just no, no, no, no, no, no.
[00:07:31] I stand by what I'm saying.
[00:07:33] The first scene.
[00:07:34] The first scene.
[00:07:35] Yeah.
[00:07:35] Because they were fresh.
[00:07:36] They were fresh bangs.
[00:07:37] I like it a lot.
[00:07:38] But anyway, yes, that whole opening sequence was very, very cool.
[00:07:42] Yeah.
[00:07:42] Um, by the way.
[00:07:43] And I loved when you were like, I made notes.
[00:07:45] I was like, I loved when you were like, I'm Bo bitches and I'll be back.
[00:07:48] Back.
[00:07:49] Yes.
[00:07:50] So that, that part of the scene, um, was the first thing we filmed.
[00:07:57] So Chris and I in the Dalriata fighting.
[00:08:00] Yeah.
[00:08:01] Was the first thing we filmed.
[00:08:02] And this is really important because first day of filming, you go full out.
[00:08:09] Mm-hmm.
[00:08:10] Chris is really strong.
[00:08:11] Mm-hmm.
[00:08:11] We were really like pulling at each other.
[00:08:14] It felt great.
[00:08:15] We were like, yeah, we're back bitches.
[00:08:16] Yeah.
[00:08:16] We're doing this thing.
[00:08:18] Well, I hurt my neck so badly.
[00:08:20] I'm not saying Chris hurt my neck.
[00:08:22] I have a very, it's a vulnerable spot for me.
[00:08:24] I know.
[00:08:25] This is why I never liked fake punching you on the show.
[00:08:27] I know.
[00:08:27] Cause my neck, Oh, my freaking neck.
[00:08:29] Anyway, I hurt my neck so badly on day one of filming.
[00:08:32] So the rest of the episode, there are, I don't know if you could, you could, maybe if you go back and watch now, you can tell that I'm like, when I'm like looking around, I'm like moving my whole body like this.
[00:08:47] Cause my neck hurts so bad.
[00:08:48] Like it was one of those things where like when I turn, it would like shoot down my body.
[00:08:53] So everything that followed.
[00:08:55] So the whole episode, my neck is stiff.
[00:08:57] Oh, you had a lot of fights in this episode.
[00:08:59] I did.
[00:08:59] I had a lot of things going on with a very stiff neck and I can see it, but what they did is they brought this lady to set to adjust my neck.
[00:09:08] Never had my neck adjusted before, by the way.
[00:09:10] Dreams.
[00:09:11] Oh my gosh.
[00:09:11] I love it.
[00:09:11] My brother and I used to play chiropractor with each other.
[00:09:14] I think that's a really dangerous game.
[00:09:16] That's a bad idea.
[00:09:16] I was like, oh my God.
[00:09:18] You'd be like chiropractor.
[00:09:19] We're playing chiropractor.
[00:09:20] Great.
[00:09:21] Okay.
[00:09:22] Maybe play like massage therapist, not, not deep tissue.
[00:09:25] Yeah.
[00:09:26] I guess that's a little weird, but, um, anyway, she came to set and she was, she came to set with her like table and stuff.
[00:09:33] Yeah.
[00:09:34] She had this thick accent.
[00:09:35] And I remember she, I was wearing the red prison suit and I had all this pretend fashion flair with that little fashion flair.
[00:09:42] It was like, it was meant for like the curves.
[00:09:45] Uh huh.
[00:09:46] But I had all this fake bruising on my chest because at this point in the episode I had, had been in a fight and I was bruised and stuff.
[00:09:53] Anyway, she comes to see me and I, I have to take this part off.
[00:09:57] And she looks at me, she goes, oh, that's very, very bad.
[00:09:59] And I was like, yeah, it's really killing me.
[00:10:01] And then I realized that she thought I had gotten all that bruising.
[00:10:04] And I was like, oh no, God, this would be very, very bad.
[00:10:08] This would be like internal bleeding.
[00:10:10] Did it help?
[00:10:11] Yeah. I mean, it helped, but it was like cracker, cracker, cracker, cracker, cracker, cracker, cracker, cracker.
[00:10:15] Go back downstairs and be in the prison.
[00:10:17] Like it was, it was intense for me, but she did help me.
[00:10:20] She did help me.
[00:10:21] Anyway. So just for everyone to note.
[00:10:23] For context.
[00:10:24] Behind the scenes.
[00:10:25] BTS context.
[00:10:27] Yes.
[00:10:28] So.
[00:10:28] I have a question for you.
[00:10:29] Yes.
[00:10:30] I felt like you were wet a lot in this episode.
[00:10:32] I was.
[00:10:33] Were you cold filming that decontamination scene?
[00:10:39] I was not, not cold.
[00:10:41] Because you were in a warehouse.
[00:10:42] I know we were in a warehouse and it was very like musty in that warehouse.
[00:10:46] I remember that was the same set as the prison.
[00:10:49] Like it was, it was the same location and they tried, you know, they always try to make the warm, the water warm.
[00:10:56] Right.
[00:10:57] Yeah.
[00:10:57] But it doesn't matter because once it hits your body, it's not warm.
[00:10:59] It wasn't ice cold, but it was not.
[00:11:03] Warm.
[00:11:04] Yeah.
[00:11:04] That's all I remember.
[00:11:06] Yeah.
[00:11:06] It was an uncomfortable episode.
[00:11:07] I had to do a lot of like things like that.
[00:11:10] Yeah.
[00:11:11] Um, with a stiff neck and I was like, okay, we're just starting.
[00:11:13] Okay.
[00:11:14] Um, but yeah, it was not, uh, let's see.
[00:11:19] I love Lauren.
[00:11:20] This is the other thing that scene when she's in the, like in the first scene,
[00:11:25] she's in prison and you don't know it's her and you're brought down to the medical thing.
[00:11:29] Yes.
[00:11:30] It, and it's funny cause I haven't watched an episode for a little while now with since
[00:11:33] last season, man, you guys have good chemistry.
[00:11:37] That scene.
[00:11:38] You don't even make out or like anything like that, but it's just so effortless.
[00:11:43] Like you guys.
[00:11:46] Yeah.
[00:11:46] I, I loved that scene.
[00:11:48] I think that was maybe one of my more favorite scenes of the episode.
[00:11:51] It was just so kind of normal.
[00:11:52] I mean, yeah, normal.
[00:11:53] She's giving you like a stonehenge stone and like all this, but like, and it was just
[00:11:58] kind of normal chatting.
[00:12:00] Yeah.
[00:12:00] And it was, it was so good.
[00:12:03] You guys just, and that's such an intangible thing.
[00:12:06] You don't know that even if you have a chemistry test, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't,
[00:12:11] but you guys really.
[00:12:13] Well, it's, I mean, I feel like, I feel like it's hard not to have chemistry with Zoe Palmer.
[00:12:18] I feel like the planet can, uh, because she's just so, she's very magnetic, you know, her
[00:12:25] and I had chemistry and audition rooms before lost girl was even a show just cause you just,
[00:12:30] you have banter with her.
[00:12:31] I know you can just have like little exchanges with her anyway.
[00:12:34] So yes, we did.
[00:12:35] Thank you for noticing that.
[00:12:37] Um, and yes, uh, Bo and Lauren, I mean, they wanted to kind of, they wanted to kick off the season,
[00:12:48] reestablishing that relationship too.
[00:12:50] I know it was extremely important for them to have the moment where Bo and Lauren are both holding a baby,
[00:12:56] which I thought it's kind of a hard scene to pull off, but Zoe does it so well where she's like,
[00:13:01] I've always thought of the name such and such for a boy and such.
[00:13:04] So we pulled that off so well.
[00:13:06] So well, that's not even the thing I found bizarre about that scene when I was watching it.
[00:13:10] And now having been through labor myself, I'm like, what is this sham of labor?
[00:13:15] Yeah, I know.
[00:13:16] Like, ah, ah.
[00:13:18] And then Zoe's like, one more push.
[00:13:20] It's almost out.
[00:13:22] And she's like, ah.
[00:13:23] And then it's not her fault cause she actually did the acting well, but it was like so short.
[00:13:27] It was like one minute.
[00:13:28] And I'm like, and then after she was just kind of like not sweating at all and stuff,
[00:13:32] which is nothing like my labor scene in Lost Girls where I was actually dying.
[00:13:37] But yeah, that was funny to me.
[00:13:41] I think we can, we can say that, you know, her gestation period was like a week.
[00:13:46] So maybe her labor and delivery is like one minute.
[00:13:49] Yeah.
[00:13:50] No, for sure.
[00:13:51] But I did definitely not a real, a real, um, but she was amazing.
[00:13:58] Her Linda Tommy Amber, I think is her name.
[00:14:01] Yeah.
[00:14:01] She was incredible.
[00:14:02] She was so like soft spoken.
[00:14:05] She was kind of playing this meek character, but she was so strong.
[00:14:08] Um, and she's an incredible actress.
[00:14:10] She's really, really, she was, I just remember really.
[00:14:13] Added to the list of incredible.
[00:14:14] Added to the list.
[00:14:15] Yes.
[00:14:16] I know.
[00:14:16] Speaking of which, Sarane Boylan, who played the warden.
[00:14:21] First of all, she's pretty formidable looking.
[00:14:24] How tall is she in real life?
[00:14:25] She's tall.
[00:14:26] She's like five 11.
[00:14:27] Tall than me?
[00:14:28] Yeah.
[00:14:29] She's taller than you.
[00:14:29] Wow.
[00:14:30] Yep.
[00:14:31] And she kind of had like a faux hawk, which I think she may have had in real life.
[00:14:35] Although I can't remember.
[00:14:36] I was looking at it and I was like, I think that this part of her hair might be real.
[00:14:40] Yeah.
[00:14:40] And then this part was like a piece that they did to like add to it, but it was super cool.
[00:14:44] No, she's kind of like rock and roll.
[00:14:46] I think in real life.
[00:14:47] Yeah.
[00:14:47] This is something that you and I touched on briefly before we started recording.
[00:14:53] And then we decided to talk about it on the podcast.
[00:14:55] And I think I want to put it out to everyone listening because as I've watched lost girl,
[00:15:01] you know, obviously you make a show and it's going on what?
[00:15:07] 10, 15 years.
[00:15:08] Mm hmm.
[00:15:09] And then the world changes and people evolve and they, and, but I've always thought lost
[00:15:13] girl held up really, really well.
[00:15:14] This was one thing where I was like, is this problematic?
[00:15:21] Like that she was a man.
[00:15:24] So she was a, he as a, she, and the way that they were outed or like, I don't know.
[00:15:32] I, I, I've never, it's never come to my mind watching lost girl in particular, but this
[00:15:37] one at the end, I, I was like, Oh, Oh.
[00:15:41] Um, so I, it's a question for audience.
[00:15:44] Like I think it's a question for the audience too.
[00:15:47] I, I, and I, it, I was thinking about it too while watching and I always think that it
[00:15:56] depends on the story you're telling in my mind, watching it, I feel like the story that
[00:16:01] was being told was that these incredible Amazon, it's like all the prison guards, by the way,
[00:16:08] were like six feet tall.
[00:16:09] These were women that were like, it was incredible to be around them.
[00:16:12] I was just like, wow.
[00:16:13] Um, they were really tall women cause they were Amazons.
[00:16:17] And then I love when she grabs him at the end and he's outed as not being female.
[00:16:24] Well, and I guess that's the thing.
[00:16:25] It's not that he identifies as a woman.
[00:16:29] It's that he was posing as a woman.
[00:16:31] Yes.
[00:16:32] To gain, take advantage of these women.
[00:16:34] These women.
[00:16:35] Yeah.
[00:16:35] So I feel like that's the story being told.
[00:16:38] Yeah.
[00:16:39] Um, this, this episode, if you guys are listening to this, I'd love to hear your feedback on,
[00:16:43] on what you thought about that rewatch.
[00:16:45] Yeah.
[00:16:46] And it was written by Emily Andres and directed by Paolo Barsman, who has, you know, both of
[00:16:52] them have directed a lot in this genre and, uh, certainly dealt with storylines that,
[00:17:00] I mean, I don't think they ever felt out of place, but maybe this one does.
[00:17:04] I don't know.
[00:17:06] I don't know.
[00:17:06] It's just as I was watching it, I was like, Oh, but when I dissected a little more, maybe,
[00:17:12] like, you know, maybe it's not, but I, I, uh, yeah, this is when I wish we were actually in an audience with people where we could talk.
[00:17:20] No.
[00:17:20] So let us know, let us know what your thoughts are on that.
[00:17:24] Because we'd be very curious.
[00:17:25] The actress was incredible.
[00:17:26] She was incredible.
[00:17:28] Um, the, okay.
[00:17:30] The other thing I wanted to bring up my second favorite scene next to the one with you and,
[00:17:35] uh, Zoe was Ksenia when she comes in as your pet.
[00:17:43] Yes.
[00:17:44] And she's, when she's like, you're like, Oh, the redneck wig.
[00:17:49] And she's like, she was so funny.
[00:17:52] She was so funny.
[00:17:53] That, I mean, she's great in a lot of like, like the kind of mini sub characters that she plays on the show.
[00:17:59] But this one was particularly hilarious.
[00:18:02] She was particularly enjoying that one too.
[00:18:04] I remember because like that wig, you know, like wig, the outfit, the like kind of mood she talked.
[00:18:09] And then what was she, there was another thing that she said, um, like the, I think the guard said to her about being human.
[00:18:17] Oh yeah.
[00:18:17] She was like, Oh, like the shorter the lifespan, the quicker, the quick, the steeper, the quicksand.
[00:18:23] And just like smashing her boobs into the, I know.
[00:18:27] She, she, she rocked it.
[00:18:28] And she's like, I'll be faithful.
[00:18:30] It's just so funny.
[00:18:32] It was, she was so good in that scene.
[00:18:35] Yeah.
[00:18:36] I loved, I loved that.
[00:18:38] What I also liked about that scene was that in terms of the dynamic between Bo and Kenzie, Bo enjoyed it.
[00:18:45] Like she enjoyed watching Kenzie in her glory.
[00:18:48] Yeah.
[00:18:49] Like she just, sweet moment of your, not that you hadn't acknowledged it.
[00:18:53] Like your character hadn't acknowledged it earlier in the series, but just kind of saying like how much you missed her.
[00:19:00] Yeah.
[00:19:00] And you see this really sweet bond between you two.
[00:19:04] Totally.
[00:19:04] Yeah.
[00:19:05] No, it was a really, it was a, there was a lot, there was, it was hilarious and touching.
[00:19:10] It was, and it was this scene.
[00:19:12] I mean, and it served a purpose.
[00:19:13] She's sticking the thing in my mouth, the contact lens thing.
[00:19:16] Yeah.
[00:19:17] Um, so it was so funny that scene.
[00:19:21] And have you guys kissed before on the show?
[00:19:23] Before this?
[00:19:24] I know that we had another kiss.
[00:19:27] We just did a rewatch podcast for every episode, but I don't remember.
[00:19:30] I know.
[00:19:31] And I, I mean, I know we did because I remember, oh, we did because I do it to her, to, to handcuff her to something to keep her safe.
[00:19:40] Was that, did we already cover that?
[00:19:42] Or is that another season?
[00:19:42] I have no idea.
[00:19:43] I feel like maybe that was in season two.
[00:19:46] This is, so this is actually one of the things Anne and I were talking about.
[00:19:49] Also before we started.
[00:19:51] So this season, we're going to do, uh, primarily just basically Anna and I am talking about the season because it's the first season that I joined.
[00:19:58] But then in the fourth season spoiler, Anna and I both really had no idea what was going on in the entire season.
[00:20:06] Like we used to sit there and just be like, what's happening right now?
[00:20:09] Like, do you know what's happening?
[00:20:10] And I can actually remember a specific point where you were sitting in the chair.
[00:20:14] You were like, I don't know what's happening.
[00:20:16] I don't know what's happening.
[00:20:17] We were like, we'll definitely have guests for that season.
[00:20:20] I remember like doing press for that season.
[00:20:22] And then they'd be like, so what can we expect?
[00:20:24] And I'd be like, well, okay, I actually need a break.
[00:20:28] Can I take a break?
[00:20:29] I'd be like, let's talk about season three.
[00:20:31] Yeah.
[00:20:31] I've never thought of other seasons.
[00:20:33] Cause we could talk about that.
[00:20:34] It was tricky, but we'll get there.
[00:20:36] We'll get there.
[00:20:37] But it's funny because even in the other seasons, like, and again, we'll get to this in the next episode, but rewatching it as I watch it.
[00:20:47] I'm like, oh, I remember that.
[00:20:48] But you don't, I actually, before the episode, before I started watching that episode, I thought, okay, I want to see just what I remember from that episode without watching it.
[00:20:58] And I only remembered one scene.
[00:21:02] And then as I'm watching, I was like, oh yeah, I forgot about this.
[00:21:05] Um, but oh, that brings me to a memory I have about this specific episode.
[00:21:09] So I'd gotten lost girl.
[00:21:11] I was like, so excited.
[00:21:12] We'd already filmed a bunch of episodes, maybe the entire series.
[00:21:15] I don't remember.
[00:21:17] And it's premiering.
[00:21:19] And this is like the first time I've done a series since I was 17, you know?
[00:21:25] Well, no, that's not true.
[00:21:26] I'd done, but like really substantially done a series.
[00:21:29] And so my whole family, like my mom, my brother, like we're all sitting around the TV.
[00:21:35] Cause we're going to watch the first episode of lost girl.
[00:21:37] Even though like I, I wasn't in it, but they, they were going to watch the season.
[00:21:41] Cause my mom, uh, always likes watching what I'm in.
[00:21:44] So we're sitting there and the episode comes on and it's playing.
[00:21:48] And then at the end, look over at my mom and my mom's just like sitting there.
[00:21:52] Like, she's like, I have no idea what's going on in this show.
[00:21:58] I was watching the first episode of this season, because obviously I had then filmed the show and I'd watched the first two seasons.
[00:22:08] And so it all seemed pretty like normal to me.
[00:22:10] But as I was watching it, I'm like, Oh no wonder she had no idea what was going on.
[00:22:14] No idea.
[00:22:14] There's so many references to lore and.
[00:22:18] There is.
[00:22:18] And like both powers are like dulled.
[00:22:21] Right.
[00:22:22] It like, so she's not even able to use them.
[00:22:23] You can't tell that story.
[00:22:25] Like, Oh yeah.
[00:22:26] This episode had to pack in a lot because they wanted to, they wanted a women's prison.
[00:22:33] Let's stay in the real world.
[00:22:34] They wanted that visual.
[00:22:37] Yeah.
[00:22:37] And they wanted to also really advance that certain storylines.
[00:22:41] And so there was so much talking in this episode.
[00:22:45] So much talking.
[00:22:46] There was so much talking.
[00:22:46] And because we had so much to cover.
[00:22:49] Um, that's so funny that your mom was like, Hmm.
[00:22:52] Yeah.
[00:22:53] She was so confused.
[00:22:54] And then bless her.
[00:22:55] But like, she continued to be confused for a lot of the season.
[00:22:59] She kind of understood there was like dark Fae and light Fae and like that kind of thing.
[00:23:04] But even like, um, I think that there's a point which, uh, Kenzie's worried about you in prison and Dyson is like, Oh, she's like the Garuda.
[00:23:13] Like she's, he's listing off all of these foes that you've faced, you know?
[00:23:17] And if you hadn't seen any of them, it would sound like gibberish.
[00:23:21] Like it was like the watchy, watchy, mocky, clacky.
[00:23:24] Like, yeah, she was just so lost.
[00:23:29] I, who knows what my brother was doing.
[00:23:31] I mean, he only comes to sleep for the craft table.
[00:23:33] So.
[00:23:33] Right.
[00:23:34] I remember that.
[00:23:36] I remember that.
[00:23:39] Oh my gosh.
[00:23:40] Um, well, one thing that I cannot believe about this episode.
[00:23:46] Yes.
[00:23:47] I'm going to show it to you right now.
[00:23:49] You ready?
[00:23:50] Okay.
[00:23:51] Yeah.
[00:23:51] Now you can only see this.
[00:23:52] Obviously if you're watching, I'm going to lean over and get it.
[00:23:54] Okay.
[00:23:55] I still have this outfit.
[00:24:01] This outfit.
[00:24:02] I re as I was watching it, I was like, I think I have that.
[00:24:06] Oh my gosh.
[00:24:07] You should have worn it.
[00:24:09] Are you kidding?
[00:24:10] Your boobs.
[00:24:11] Like when you were down on the ground.
[00:24:14] I know this is what I wore and I bent over in it.
[00:24:18] Well, I don't have to say.
[00:24:20] I am straight.
[00:24:23] But you were leaning over and then she was like, uh, you were doing it quickly.
[00:24:29] And then she's like, I like that.
[00:24:31] Like scrubbing a little slower.
[00:24:33] And I was like, yeah, let's do that.
[00:24:36] Slowly, Anna.
[00:24:37] I can't believe how good I looked in this.
[00:24:42] You did.
[00:24:43] This was like a cheap, like, this was like a cheapo kind of thing they bought.
[00:24:46] And then they, they did all this to it.
[00:24:47] Right.
[00:24:48] Yeah.
[00:24:49] To kind of, but I, I, what, what, what, how do you even have that?
[00:24:55] How do you keep it?
[00:24:55] Why do I have it?
[00:24:56] And I was watching.
[00:24:57] I was like, oh my God, I have that outfit.
[00:24:59] Yeah.
[00:24:59] Because I, this stuff, do you just like keep that in your closet with all your other clothes?
[00:25:02] I do all my house cleaning with it.
[00:25:04] I'm just kidding.
[00:25:04] I don't.
[00:25:06] I have some clothes upstairs from the show and.
[00:25:08] Oh, so they're like in a separate box.
[00:25:11] And I remember going through it not too long ago and seeing that and being like, oh my God,
[00:25:14] I can't believe I have that.
[00:25:16] Um, but yeah, I have it.
[00:25:17] And I can't believe that I, there was a time in my life when I was like, okay, yeah, sure.
[00:25:22] Zip.
[00:25:22] You know?
[00:25:23] Um, I know.
[00:25:25] Yeah.
[00:25:25] Yeah.
[00:25:25] No, it looks pretty luscious.
[00:25:27] That outfit.
[00:25:28] Uh, yes, please.
[00:25:30] I, what can I do with it now?
[00:25:31] I don't know.
[00:25:32] I don't know that maybe I should try it on.
[00:25:34] See what happens.
[00:25:35] It's like trying on your wedding dress, but not, but not, but not.
[00:25:40] Um, I also love speaking of like this, these types of outfits, Paul in this episode, Paul
[00:25:46] in this episode with his, his, you know, it's funny too, because super sexed up in this
[00:25:52] episode, he was super sexed up in this episode.
[00:25:54] And he, like when he's wearing like the little shorts or whatever, and comes into the precinct
[00:25:59] that's in this episode, right?
[00:26:01] Yeah.
[00:26:01] I know that's hard to doubt it too.
[00:26:03] I was like, wait, what?
[00:26:04] Yeah.
[00:26:04] Yeah.
[00:26:05] Cause we've watched a bunch of them.
[00:26:06] Cause we're recording a bunch of episodes, but, um, but yeah, he was great.
[00:26:12] And what's funny too, is that his accent was like so intense.
[00:26:17] It was a bit different.
[00:26:19] I feel this, this episode for some reason, and it's not Paul's natural accent.
[00:26:24] That's the other thing I really noticed.
[00:26:26] He like really hams it up.
[00:26:28] Played it up.
[00:26:29] Totally.
[00:26:29] And it's great.
[00:26:31] Yeah.
[00:26:31] Because Vex would, you know what I mean?
[00:26:34] Like he would play anything up.
[00:26:35] He would take it to the hilt.
[00:26:37] Yeah.
[00:26:38] No, he's, uh, he's so good.
[00:26:40] And actually I think this season was he in more episodes?
[00:26:46] Cause he wasn't, it wasn't even supposed to, he was only going to be in the one episode,
[00:26:50] one or two.
[00:26:51] Right.
[00:26:52] He was only ever going to be in the pilot, which was episode eight.
[00:26:57] Yeah.
[00:26:57] No, it was episode eight.
[00:26:58] He was in that.
[00:26:59] You filmed it as your pilot.
[00:27:01] Yeah.
[00:27:01] Yeah.
[00:27:01] Yeah.
[00:27:02] Yeah.
[00:27:05] And I just love that he's like this third roommate right now.
[00:27:10] I actually think it's in the next episode when Kenzie is like, like in an accent about
[00:27:14] getting rid of this freeloader or whatever.
[00:27:17] Yeah.
[00:27:17] We'll also talk about that.
[00:27:19] Yeah, we'll get to that.
[00:27:19] But yeah, but like, I just, I love that he's kind of plonked himself down in the middle
[00:27:23] of our lives.
[00:27:24] And we're just kind of like, oh God, he does it so well.
[00:27:31] Öko?
[00:27:32] Strom.
[00:27:33] Erd?
[00:27:34] Gas.
[00:27:35] Zu?
[00:27:35] Mir?
[00:27:36] Zu uns?
[00:27:38] Zu, zuverlässig.
[00:27:40] Sachsen?
[00:27:41] Energie.
[00:27:42] Here come Sachsen and Energie zusammen.
[00:27:44] Ob Strom or Erdgas, we bring energy now to you.
[00:27:48] Regional and toverlässig.
[00:27:50] Mehr Infos unter SachsenEnergie.de.
[00:27:53] SachsenEnergie, die Kraft, die uns verbindet.
[00:27:59] Um, I, and I, you know, I love the, the, the end with Bo and Lauren, which that scene could
[00:28:06] have been incredibly forced, but it kind of just worked.
[00:28:09] You know, when Bo says it's time.
[00:28:12] And they kiss and then Dyson sees that and sees that she's happy.
[00:28:16] And.
[00:28:17] Which is also a really beautiful transition for what we know will be the next, next episode
[00:28:23] when my character comes in as his love interest, which never took flight.
[00:28:28] Um, they were like, woof, these two cannot be lovers.
[00:28:34] Um, but actually no pun intended with woof, but, um, what was I going to say?
[00:28:42] I thought it, that was actually really well, really well done because especially when he
[00:28:47] said she looks happy.
[00:28:48] She looks happy.
[00:28:49] Yeah.
[00:28:50] And that was important to him.
[00:28:51] Yeah.
[00:28:51] You know, it's, it's nice because everyone kind of gets this new place to be and it's
[00:28:57] still from a place of love and respect.
[00:28:58] And then you're going to come walking in next episode, which I can't wait to talk about
[00:29:03] world of hurt waiting for him.
[00:29:05] He's got a world of hurt.
[00:29:05] No.
[00:29:06] Um, and I love the scene at the very end with bow and trick.
[00:29:10] I always love bow trick scenes because there's such a, there's such a familial and grandfatherly.
[00:29:19] She, she kind of comes to trick always a little more vulnerable than other people I find.
[00:29:25] And I always loved those scenes.
[00:29:26] And I just love that.
[00:29:28] She talks about, you know, wondering if she's a monster and.
[00:29:34] Haven't we all wondered that?
[00:29:36] Haven't we all?
[00:29:37] Yeah.
[00:29:38] Then she walks out of the bar and she sucks some dude.
[00:29:41] No, I know.
[00:29:41] But that's the thing about lost girl is that everything is so.
[00:29:46] I say this lovingly, but like ridiculous, you know, and, and, and larger than life and
[00:29:52] all this mythology and magic and whatever.
[00:29:56] But at its core, there are moments when you're watching it that you're like, oh yeah, sure.
[00:30:01] She's carrying a, like a stone from Stonehenge and sucking chi and like, you know, wearing
[00:30:06] a prison outfit no one would ever wear in prison.
[00:30:08] Yeah.
[00:30:09] But there, there are moments of like great humanity.
[00:30:13] Yeah.
[00:30:13] I mean, we all just accepted the world of lost girl.
[00:30:16] We just accepted it as truth.
[00:30:19] Yeah.
[00:30:19] It never was ridiculous to our characters.
[00:30:21] So that's why the humanity can be there, you know?
[00:30:25] Um, but yeah.
[00:30:27] So yeah.
[00:30:27] So that was our intro episode and it was, it was fun to watch.
[00:30:33] It was packed with a lot of stuff.
[00:30:35] My neck, I got a little break on my neck before the next one.
[00:30:39] Um, cause we shot in order by now we were shooting in order.
[00:30:42] Certainly.
[00:30:43] We shot in order.
[00:30:43] Cause I remember you guys went back like the season started.
[00:30:47] I wasn't there, but I was coming in for wardrobe fittings and stuff when you guys were
[00:30:50] filming.
[00:30:51] And I know I remember they showed me your photo.
[00:30:53] So I was probably like, what?
[00:30:54] Let me see.
[00:30:55] I was probably like stiff-backed.
[00:30:58] And they're like, this is Rachel Scarston.
[00:31:00] She's going to be playing Tamsin.
[00:31:02] Oh yeah.
[00:31:02] Who's Tamsin?
[00:31:03] What's happening?
[00:31:03] I was like, no, she's, she's kind of cute.
[00:31:07] Kind of please.
[00:31:08] Gorgeous.
[00:31:10] And, um, yeah, we were getting ready to, to welcome you, which we will talk about,
[00:31:15] but I know about the next episode.
[00:31:18] I can't wait to wait for, I cannot wait.
[00:31:21] This is going to be a fun season because we've been waiting for this moment, Tamsin
[00:31:26] for you to grace the screen with your presence and your moxie and your just everything, everything.
[00:31:38] But that's, that wraps up season three, episode one.
[00:31:42] Yes.
